Yemeni Armed Forces Vow Continued Operations After Houthi Attack on Mokha

The Yemeni Armed Forces have reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their missions with high efficiency across all fronts, vowing to press on with the national battle until its objectives are achieved, the threat posed by the Houthi militia and its Iranian project is neutralized, and Yemen's security, stability, and institutions are restored.

This statement was issued by the official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, Colonel Rakan Majid Al-Nazeeli, who described the terrorist attack launched by the Houthi militia on the city of Mokha and its port on Sunday as an assault targeting civilian facilities, infrastructure, residences of employees and their families, and power generation stations, in addition to military sites. He emphasized that this constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and its customary rules.

The statement detailed that the terrorist aggression has, thus far, resulted in the martyrdom of four members of the Armed Forces and three civilians, with 30 others injured, the majority of whom were civilians who have largely been discharged after receiving treatment. The statement reiterated that the Houthi militia's approach of targeting civilians aims to damage civilian objects and vital installations, noting that the air defense systems of the Armed Forces stationed in Mokha successfully intercepted and downed eleven Houthi drones that participated in the attack.

The official spokesperson stressed that the attack on the units of the Armed Forces stationed in Mokha is considered an attack on the entire armed forces.

The Armed Forces reiterated their possession of the will, capability, and initiative necessary to silence and neutralize sources of threat, preventing them from continuing their hostile actions in accordance with operational requirements, while preserving the lives and assets of civilians.
