Houthi Forces Crack Down on Deserters in Sana'a

Houthi forces have initiated a wave of arrests targeting individuals returning from frontlines in Sana'a, who have refused to redeploy to combat zones. The crackdown has extended to residential areas, with reports of homes being raided and residents detained.

Local sources indicate that militia elements conducted raids and abductions in various districts of the capital, apprehending numerous young men. These individuals included combatants who had returned from the frontlines and subsequently rejected pressure from the Houthi administration to rejoin the fighting, leading to their incarceration.

In a related development, residents of the Hazeiz neighborhood in southern Sana'a reported that Houthi forces abducted several young men from the area. Additionally, Houthi elements, accompanied by individuals identified as "Zainabiyyat," raided a residence in the same neighborhood under the pretext of the occupants engaging in unauthorized filming. During the raid, mobile phones belonging to the homeowners were confiscated.

These actions are occurring amid an intensified security grip by the Houthi movement on residential areas. The group is reportedly pursuing dissenters and those who reject its policies. This crackdown coincides with efforts to mobilize additional fighters, particularly children and young men, for redeployment to the frontlines.
