Yemeni Government Forces Secure Strategic Gains in Southwest Taiz

Yemeni government forces have achieved significant territorial gains in the southwestern province of Taiz, successfully capturing the strategic Mount Numan in the Jabal Habashi front while repelling multiple infiltration attempts by Houthi militants.

Field sources reported that intense fighting erupted across several sectors in the southern and western regions of the province. In the Rasin area of Al-Shamayatayn district, government troops engaged in fierce clashes, effectively reclaiming territory and thwarting attempts by Houthi forces to advance.

In the Bani Omar sector of the same district, government forces pushed back Houthi elements from the outskirts of the Al-Ajram area. Under heavy fire from troops positioned on adjacent heights, the militants were forced to retreat to their previous defensive lines on Mount Marzam, which borders the Al-Ghail region.

Furthermore, government forces successfully neutralized infiltration attempts by Houthi fighters in the Jabal Jardad sector. The defense operation compelled the attacking units to withdraw, maintaining the government’s operational control across the front lines.

This escalation coincides with recent tactical successes in Jabal Habashi, as government forces maintain a high state of combat readiness. The southern and western fronts of Taiz continue to experience persistent military activity and intermittent skirmishes as both sides vie for control over key mountainous terrain.
