Yemeni Armed Forces Repel Houthi Attacks in Taiz, Reinforce Positions in Hayfan

Yemeni Armed Forces announced early Thursday that they successfully repelled a series of offensives launched by Houthi militias on the Al-Ahkoum front in Taiz Governorate, inflicting significant casualties and destroying enemy weaponry.

In an official statement released by the Armed Forces Media Center, military spokesperson Colonel Majid Al-Nuzaili confirmed that government troops effectively countered the assaults, resulting in dozens of militants killed or wounded. The operation successfully neutralized the threat and prevented the militia from securing any territorial gains in the region.

Colonel Al-Nuzaili further stated that government forces neutralized pockets of Houthi fighters who had attempted to infiltrate the Hayjat Al-Abed road. The heavy losses sustained by the attacking forces compelled an immediate retreat, halting their advance and stabilizing the front line.

Following the engagement, the Armed Forces, supported by local popular resistance groups, have significantly expanded their deployment across strategic positions in the Hayfan front. This reinforcement effort is part of a broader tactical initiative to monitor and neutralize ongoing Houthi movements in the southwestern governorate.
