Two Alleged IRGC-Linked Experts Killed in Western Taiz, Two Others Missing

Intelligence reports indicate that two individuals suspected of having ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed, and two others remain missing, following an attack on a vehicle in the Maqbana district of Taiz province.

According to a report published by Sheba Intelligence on Friday, September 25, 2026, the four men had separated from a Houthi militia convoy. Following the incident, Houthi forces launched a search operation, eventually recovering the bodies of two individuals, while the fate of the remaining two remains unconfirmed.

Sources noted that the four men arrived in the Al-Barh area wearing local Yemeni attire and carrying electronic equipment. Their appearance and non-Yemeni accents drew the attention of observers who identified them as specialists affiliated with the IRGC. The group reportedly split from the main convoy, traveling in a medium-sized vehicle toward Jebel Habashi, while the rest of the convoy proceeded toward the Red Sea coast.

The vehicle carrying the men was targeted shortly after it veered off the main route. While the specific nature of the attack remains unverified, reports suggest it may have been an airstrike, given the heightened aerial activity against Houthi positions in western Taiz. Despite the recovery of two bodies by Houthi search teams, there is no definitive information regarding whether the other two men were killed, injured, or captured.

The incident occurs amidst escalating military tensions in western and southern Taiz, as well as near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Military sources have previously reported the presence of Iranian experts in the region, allegedly involved in the installation of radar systems and the construction of fortifications in mountainous areas overlooking critical maritime supply routes.
