Houthi Supervisor Stabs Elderly Man and Worshipper Inside Mosque in Sana’a
In a fresh escalation of the security chaos gripping areas under Houthi militia control, the governorates of Amran and Sana’a witnessed two horrific crimes over the past hours. The first involved a brutal assault on an 80-year-old mosque imam and another worshipper inside a mosque in Sana’a, while the second was the cold-blooded killing of a young man in Amran city.
According to local sources in Sana’a governorate, a Houthi supervisor identified as Abdullah Yahya Al-Kabsi stormed the mosque in the village of Shaba’a, located in Bani Al-Rous district.
Sources confirmed that Al-Kabsi stabbed the mosque imam, Ahmed bin Ahmed Al-Shaba’i, 80, who is reportedly a person with disabilities, along with citizen Ali Naji Al-Shaba’i, while they were performing congregational prayers at the prayer niche.
The crime, described as “heinous,” sparked widespread public outrage in the area, particularly after both victims were rushed to hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the perpetrator reportedly fled the scene amid accusations that the militia is protecting him and has so far failed to take any legal measures to apprehend him.
