Three Killed in Brutal Axe Attack in Yemen’s Hajjah Province
Three individuals, including the perpetrator’s father and brother, were killed in a violent incident in the village of Al-Harajij, located in the Kua'idna district of Hajjah province.
Local sources reported that the assailant, identified as Rabie Shamhan, utilized an axe to carry out the killings. Among the victims were his father, his brother Ahmed, and a third man identified as Suhaib, a resident of the Al-Dahayma area who reportedly also struggled with mental health issues.
According to witnesses, village residents successfully apprehended the suspect immediately following the commission of the crime. Authorities have noted that the perpetrator has a history of suffering from severe psychological disturbances.
This incident occurs amidst deteriorating living conditions and a deepening humanitarian crisis within territories currently held by Houthi forces. Observers suggest that the systemic economic instability and the continued suspension of public sector salaries have contributed to a rise in psychological distress and social volatility across the region.
