Organization of Islamic Cooperation Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Holy Sites

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a formal condemnation of the recent ballistic missile attacks launched by Houthi militants against Mecca, Medina, Taif, and Jeddah, labeling the targeting of the vicinity of holy sites as a grave violation of their sanctity and a direct threat to civilian security.

In a press statement, the OIC Secretary-General, Hissein Brahim Taha, emphasized that the deployment of a ballistic missile toward the Wadi al-Mughammas area, located near the plains of Arafat, demonstrates a flagrant disregard for the sanctity of Islamic holy places and the safety of the populace. The organization characterized these actions as criminal maneuvers that extend beyond regional conflict into the realm of religious provocation.

The Secretary-General issued a stern warning regarding the dangerous implications of these continued hostilities. He called upon the nations of the Islamic world to pursue collective action and adopt a firm, unified stance to deter the Houthi militia and effectively halt their ongoing military transgressions against sovereign territory.

Reiterating its unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the OIC expressed its full support for all measures undertaken by the Saudi government to safeguard its national security, sovereignty, and the safety of its residents. The organization underscored that the violation of sacred sites constitutes an affront to the entire Islamic nation, necessitating immediate international intervention to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.
